• Within two years, 90% of organizations will suffer a critical tech skills shortage A growing IT skills shortage is impeding organizations from completing digitization projects and adopting new technologies including generative artificial intelligence (genAI), and it’s hitting the bottom line in several ways. In a recent IDC Research survey of more than 800 North American IT leaders, nearly two thirds said that a lack of skills has resulted in missed revenue growth objectives, quality problems, and a decline in customer satisfaction.

• The Evolving Role Of Artificial Intelligence In Executive Recruiting The role of artificial intelligence (AI) in executive recruiting is growing, offering efficiency gains but also limitations. While AI can streamline candidate screening, human recruiters excel at assessing team dynamics, cultural fit, and detecting embellishments. The future lies in synergizing AI's data processing capabilities with human recruiters' nuanced understanding for effective talent acquisition

• Randstad Digital acquires AI-powered digital talent marketplace Torc This acquisition is aimed to further accelerate clients’ access to digital talent, including global delivery centers, to meet its digital ambitions across cloud, data, digital engineering, and customer experience capabilities

• Asia-Pacific labour markets show recovery amidst looming demographic challenges Asia-Pacific labour markets have recovered well since the global pandemic but face deep seated challenges that are being compounded by the region's rapidly ageing population according to the International Labour Organization

• IT leaders’ AI talent needs hinge on reskilling CIOs and HR managers are changing their equations on hiring and training, with a bigger focus on reskilling current employees to make good on the promise of AI technologies.

• Skill Shortage: Bulgaria Considers Importing Workers from India The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCIP) is exploring the option of importing labor from India to address the shortage of skilled workers in various sectors of the country's economy. In collaboration with the Indian-Bulgarian Business Chamber, discussions will be held to explore the feasibility of this initiative.

• Global unemployment to slightly fall in 2024, UN labour body says The global unemployment rate is expected to fall slightly to 4.9% this year from 5.0% in 2023, even as inequalities in labour markets persist, the International Labour Organization (ILO) said on Wednesday.

Overall the market is fairly busy especially in the USA and when you look at the broader WFP and PA landscape. We are still seeing a new core Talent Intelligence teams being stood up, a few hybrid sourcing and talent intelligence, but overall the market is in a much more positive place than even 6m ago.
